Because of personal problems, I had to cancel several scheduled trips. It has been over 2 months that I have asked the company to check their book keeping regard the refund of paid trips and double billing and I have yet to be able to talk to a responsible person. The support group will run you around in circles, not provide information on who to contact directly. Buyer beware, indeed. IF the trip goes as described, you'll have good value and quality. However, if anything is out of the ordinary, you are on the hook for everything. Expect no recourse, unless it comes with a price, and NO service support. Try being stuck in Mongolia on your own. Buying your way out is the only option. I thought that was bad, then encountered TripMate, their insurance partner, aka master of denial of the valid claim. Advice; avoid GCC, but if you go, pray for luck and don't insure. My husband and I bought a GC tour. After we were on the tour (day 3), I had to return home for a family emergency. Before we left, GC encouraged us to purchase travel protection insurance with Trip Mate and additional air fare insurance--which we did. Trip Mate states that they have a 3-week turnaround on all claims. I submitted all the required paperwork to Trip Mate mid-October 2015. We paid for insurance. We did not go to Paris due to terrorist attacks. Our friends and family were too frantic for us to travel in comfort. The insurance company they use refused to refund payment so I'm stuck with a "voucher" I will not use. Loss: over $3,000. Grand Circle is remiss in not choosing a company that understands the purpose of insurance. I need 80 words? That is just plain silly since my complaint is simple. my friend and i recently booked this trip, then terrorism broke out in paris, france. we feel we should get our $225 trip money back (as well as trip cost) as we could not travel due to the terrorism. we think GCT would back up up with this with trip tik., otherwise you would have put us in HARM'S WAY!. our reservation number is: 3306470. dorothy branciforte and florence chotkowski. Grand Circle Travel - Grand circle are the worst on the rivers

I worked many years for grand circle and can say that they are the worst company on the european rivers. They treat the people like Dirt You are just a number and we cannot do anything about that. Only Mr A. Lewis who is a arrogant and selfish person made the rules. Food costs are around 10$ a person the food is frozen and all left overs are reprepared next day. I feel strongly that this company is untrustworthy. I changed a reservation for one trip for another within the time frame allowed. For some reason they didn't register the change and sent me final information for the first trip. When I called and said I had changed trips, they replied that they had to listen to the phone call which they said had been recorded. There is currently no single supplement; the ships, food and crew are top-notch as are the guides (who all speak perfect English). Land tours offer off-touristy stops, so we can experience real life situations. The travelers are all American, so there are no cultural or language problems. We have traveled with other companies in the past, but always come back to the Grand Circle family. We have found absolutely nothing to complain about! During a recent GCT to Italy, I developed bronchial pneumonia which was "caught" from another traveler. (Wasn't ill when I began the trip, but developed symptoms six days into the trip.) I recommended that face masks be worn on the bus to prevent further transmission of germs. GCT did not follow this advice, resulting in many of us developing upper respiratory illnesses. In May, I made a reservation for a tour of England/Scotland/Wales (departure 10/7/15) on the basis of assertions made by the GCT representative during a telephone conversation (one being that a full refund of monies expended would be refunded no matter when or why I cancelled). Shortly thereafter I did cancel, and am now being denied a full refund (I have only received $50) because I didn't cancel in time (see above, this is not what I promised).
