We went on the Canadian trip and all was well except for one motel. What I dislike about GC is they don't even respond to your complaints, they just igore you and keep sending you more litature on future trips. We had used them 3 times before but I will not use them in the future. All they seem to want, is you to tell them everything is wonderful. I for one will look else where when booking future trips. We have traveled with Grand Circle and Overseas Adventure, 38 trips in ten years. Obviously, we would not continue to book trips with these companies if we were not very pleased with the service, the food, the itinerarys, the tour directors, and all of the aspects that make up a trip. I have not been on the trip I booked on Grand Circle Cruise Line (Grand Circle Travel) yet, but I highly recommend that you look elsewhere for any river cruise travel plans you have. My recommendation is based upon the experience I had booking my river cruise with them. Because of personal problems, I had to cancel several scheduled trips. It has been over 2 months that I have asked the company to check their book keeping regard the refund of paid trips and double billing and I have yet to be able to talk to a responsible person. Buyer beware, indeed. IF the trip goes as described, you'll have good value and quality. However, if anything is out of the ordinary, you are on the hook for everything. Expect no recourse, unless it comes with a price, and NO service support. Try being stuck in Mongolia on your own. Buying your way out is the only option. My husband and I bought a GC tour. After we were on the tour (day 3), I had to return home for a family emergency. Before we left, GC encouraged us to purchase travel protection insurance with Trip Mate and additional air fare insurance--which we did. We paid for insurance. We did not go to Paris due to terrorist attacks. Our friends and family were too frantic for us to travel in comfort. The insurance company they use refused to refund payment so I'm stuck with a "voucher" I will not use. Loss: over $3,000. Grand Circle is remiss in not choosing a company that understands the purpose of insurance. I need 80 words? That is just plain silly since my complaint is simple. What is wrong... Read more
